About Our Ministry

Fresh Wind Recovery is a residential ministry for men and women who are struggling with substance abuse and are actively seeking healing for their addictive lifestyle. Over 600 clients have walked through our doors. At present, we are able to serve almost 90 men and women with our facilities and resources.

About Us

Fresh Wind Recovery Ministry leadership is composed of ordained ministers, trained counselors, gifted educators, and many talented volunteers. Classes are held daily Monday through Friday. We use some of the best traditional recovery teachings accompanied by Christian education on recovery, renewing of the mind, and living a sober abundant life. A combination of these provide for a robust recovery discipleship for each client.

Our model is broken into 4 phases, including an initial 60 days in which clients do not work and are committed to the daily rhythms of personal growth, learning, reflection, worship, and prayer. We hold classes for clients Monday through Friday and have a worship gathering for clients and their families Sunday evenings at 6:30PM. During phase 2 through 4, clients have entered the workforce and continue the recovery process.

Their recovery will include:

  • Classroom teaching about healing from addictions
  • Additional, unique Christ-centered curriculum
  • Regular worship time with testimonies and biblical messages
  • Individual prayer
  • Individual counseling

The Biblical Approach.
A study published in Substance Abuse & Misuse stated that 75 percent of participants in a faith-based rehab program found that religious faith and spirituality were useful components of their recovery. A 1996 survey by Georgetown University Medical Center found that 45 percent of participants in a religious treatment program could sustain their recovery from opiate addiction, versus only 5 percent of people who entered secular treatment programs.

Fresh Wind Recovery Ministry believes that all who truly want help for addiction should be able to receive it. People who have been addicted often have little or no resources to receive help. Because of the vision God has given us, we try to receive new clients whenever possible and believe that Christ will provide. In many cases, He provides through the men and women He heals as they go back into the workforce and begin to invest in themselves and re-paying the fees for Fresh Wind. It is our desire to not let money be the obstacle that prevents healing from addiction. Those who truly want help but can't afford it should not be excluded.

As of right now, Fresh Wind Ministry is completely volunteer staffed. We hope in the very near future to begin some paid positions but not at the detriment of the least, last, lost and addicted men God sends us.

It is our desire not to let money be the obstacle that prevents healing from addiction. Those who truly want help but can’t afford it should not be excluded.
